It certainly appears
to be "above and beyond the call of duty." but Lisa
and Donald Eric Wettig of Cincinnati, Ohio, said that it was fun!
They attended all but the St. Louis Reunion, and they didn't know
about that one. When I asked Don, "What made you do this?",
he really didn't have a very good answer.
He has never actively pursued the genealogy that his Great Grandfather, John Snyder Wettig, put together back in the 1950s, but he has spent a lot of time trying to understand the impact of family on individual descendants.
He cited the interest, and talent, that he has in working with wood. He had little formal training with this, and didn't know very much about the history of the three Wettig Brothers - Louis, Henry and George -in fine cabinet making, but he grew to love woodworking as something special in his life.
Lisa and Don are a very interesting story, Don wrote to me after the Reunions, "What a joy it was in attending the Reunions in May. We learned a lot and met some great people."
