6 Henry Louis Wettig(8), son of Carl Heinrich Friedrich and Louisa Maria (Wöbbeking) Wettig, was born in 18 Feb 1852, in Covington, Kenton County, Kentucky, USA, and married Ella Patricia Halloran (9), daughter of John (1049) and Julia (Ghority)(1050) Holloran, who was born 20 Sep 1854 in Nashville, Tennessee. Henry died 20 April 1916 in Atlanta, Georgia. Ella Patricia died 30 Sep 1916 in Atlanta, Georgia.

Henry and Ellie died in 1916. A certified copy of Death certificate from City of Atlanta, is as follows: Mr. H. L. Wettig, born Kentucky in February 1852, son of Henry Wettig, died at age 63, on April 20, 1916 in Grady Hospital, Ward 4, of Uremia. Contributing cause was Arteriosclerosis and vascular nephritis. The attending physician was E. S. Byrd, MD who saw the patient only on the date of death. At the time of his death he was living at 104 Jett (Jefferson) Street, Atlanta, Ga. Mrs. H. L. Wettig, of 104 Jett (Jefferson) Street attested to the information on the certificate. A copy of the death certificate for Mrs. H. L. Wettig, with information about her parents, attests that Mrs. H. L. Wettig, female, white, age 56, widowed, died on September 30, 1916, in Grady Hospital, Ward 4, Atlanta, Fulton County, Georgia. The cause of death was Mitral regurgitation and nephritis. Contributing cause was arteriosclerosis. The Physician in attendance was L. N. Matheson, MD, who saw her only on the date of her death. At the time of death she was living at 107 Jett (Jefferson) Street in Atlanta. The certificate of death was attested by Harry Wettig (3) who lived at the 107 Jett (Jefferson) Street address. They were both buried in the West View Cemetary in Atlanta. According to the story, they were later disinterred and reburied in private lot by Ida Leger (312), a granddaughter. I have not yet determined the location of the final burial.

The only information that I have to lead to Ellie Halloran's family is the statement on her death certificate: Her birthplace was Tennessee; her father's name was John Halloran (or Holloran) born in Irteland; her mother's maiden name was Julia Ghority, born in Ireland. There is one reference in my files to John Halloran as a Grocer in Nashville, Tennessee. Research in Nashville reveals that a Halloran family was involved in the grocery business in Nashville, but identification is not yet complete. It appears more likely that John Halloran was the owner of a very successful Saloon near the waterfront in that growing City.

Henry Wettig was a Cabinetmaker, and either taught cabinet making at Georgia Tech or worked at the school. Cabinet making was an academic pursuit at that time, a part of the engineering curriculum. He also worked at Michael Fox Co, a furniture manufacturer in Fulton County. Henry and Ellie and the family lived for many years at 119 Plum Street in Atlanta. This was only a few blocks from the Georgia Tech campus. At the time of Henry's death they lived at 104 Jett (Jefferson) Street. At the time of Ellie's death, five months later, they lived at 107 (Jefferson) Jett Street. Their oldest son, Harry, also lived at that address. He had just moved back from Jacksonville, Florida, with his two daughters after the death of his wife, Ida.

The 1900 Census of Atlanta, Fulton County, Georgia, listed: Wettig, Henry, w/m b 18 Feb 1852 (age 48) Ohio; wife Ellie O'Halloran Wettig, born 20 September, 1854 (age 46) in Tennessee; children: Harry(3) b 7/13 age 8, William(71) b 10/19 age 6, George(12) b 11/28 age 4, Annie 13) b 4/29 age 2, Georgia(14) b 5/24/1899, all children born in Atlanta, Georgia.
