? ?Al derécho Creations is a sole proprietorship, owned and operated by Harry Wettig of Leisure World Arizona.The major interest of the company has changed from Jewelry design and manufacture, to Newsletter and graphics publishing, to book publishing and, now, into the realm of the Internet.
Harry Wettig retired to Arizona in 1980 after a career of more than thirty years with the United States Public Health Service. He, and his wife, Erin, who also retired from a more than thirty year career in Public Health, moved to Leisure World, in the east Valley of the Sun, in 1986. They played their golf, traveled the country from stem to stern. visited family and friends for thousands of miles and did all of those things that are expected of retirees. They ran from the sun in the summer and chased after it in the winter. They were, therefore, seasoned SunBirds and SnowBirds. Erin died in September 2002, and Harry still lives at the home in Leisure World.
Harry found early in retirement that he needed some entity to front for the many pursuits that filled his time, most notably his jewelry creations. Al derécho Creations was formed to fill this need. This sole proprietorship, one employee company has expanded to include the computer interests that have replaced jewelry making.
"What does Al derécho mean?" you may ask, as many before you have asked. It is a recognition that the left side of the brain is a very pragmatic and dogmatic institution that can exist only with great order and little change. The right side of the brain, on the other hand, is the creative soul of the individual where new ideas and change are the only constant. Al derécho in Spanish means to the right. Therefore, Al derécho Creations deals only with the very creative, new, unusual things that come from the right side of the brain. Some people have said that Harry doesn't even have a left side of his brain!
After getting a Macintosh Computer, Harry began to do computer graphics work for many clubs and other organizations of Leisure World and publishing of various small directories and brochures. This interest progressed to the Publishing of a book of Poetry in 1994. The Poetry of a Man, The life and Poetry of Percy C West, was the complete works of an old friend. Other published books include MoonWalk: A trip through the ageless!, and Values: The New Frontier for the 21st Century. These are the work of a friend, Dr. John Garwood, also retired to Leisure World. A few copies of these book are still available.
Harry's activities continue to be varied. He is involved with the development of a Leisure World Writers Club and is active in community and national political affairs. His Web Site, RepublicansAgainstBush.info, reflects his distrust of the current administration of our government. This WebSite had more than 18,000 hits in the three months before the last presidential election. It will soon be active again in preparation for the 2006 elections.
